I'm slowly but surely painting the kitchen walls.
After I painted the kitchen cabinets white, the wall paint was immediately wrong. I can't sum it up in one word, but a few are: sallow, dirty, cold, stark.
The new paint color I'm using is: Benjamin Moore - Antique Parchment (color #959). It's a really nice, neutral color. Mostly tan/khaki with a touch of gold. The color seems to absorb the light and remain neutral rather than glow outward.
I'm working in little sections at a time, and almost done. I could save painting for a weekend alone and have it all done quick, but I'm having fun doing a little here & there.
I like this color so much, I'm going to paint my way around the rest of the house...dining, living, hall spaces, and bedrooms.
Ava's been wanting to paint, so I gave her a wall section outside the kitchen so I could observe the color elsewhere. She's 5. She doesn't have a set of painting clothes yet. I suggested old jammies. She elected to paint naked. This picture shows her first time painting a wall.
Her #1 painting lesson was to smooth the brush strokes and catch drips right away. She didn't fully paint her wall, but her brush strokes were good and she had a pretty even coverage. She will definitely be allowed to paint again.

LOL at her paint attire. Is it easier to take a bath or wash clothes? It would be too cold to paint naked at my house, though dh might turn up the heat if I suggested it.
